The Kestrel 5000 is a powerful yet compact environmental meter designed for professionals who need accurate, real-time conditions anywhere. It delivers the same trusted accuracy and durability Kestrel is known for, with upgraded features for improved usability and data tracking.

Featuring a larger high-resolution display, dual-color backlight, rugged polycarbonate lens, and AA battery power, the Kestrel 5000 is built to perform in harsh environments. It is waterproof, dustproof, and drop-proof, making it ideal for research, safety, agriculture, expeditions, and industrial use.

The meter can log over 10,000 time-stamped data points and transfer data wirelessly to iOS and Android devices via the optional LiNK app, or to PC/Mac via USB or dongle. With optional mounting accessories, it can also function as a hands-free weather monitoring station.

Impeller:

Every Kestrel Meter features a large, 1” impeller mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing, which means it starts rotating with the slightest puff of air – 0.48 km/h to be exact! This patented impeller is user-replaceable by simply pushing it out with your thumbs, which means it can easily be replaced if it is damaged or worn. The measurements from the wind impeller are taken magnetically. The impeller is not glued or attached to the unit. Because every new impeller is calibrated in the wind tunnel at the USA factory, if your application demands regular calibration, simply pop in a new impeller and the Kestrel Wind Meter is restored to like-new factory calibration standards. The Kestrel 5000 can easily be switched between °F, °C, mph, km/h, ft/min, m/s, knots and Beaufort.
